Measles Vaccination Now Required for Domestic Workers from Sep 1 2025

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced that from 1 September 2025, if your home has a child under seven who isn’t fully vaccinated against measles, your migrant domestic worker (MDW) will need to be protected against measles too. This new step helps keep young children safe and supports a healthier community.
Measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads through the air. While Singapore has strong vaccination coverage and good overall immunity, occasional cases and small clusters can still occur—especially among those who aren’t protected. As a busy global travel hub, Singapore remains at risk from rising measles cases around the world and in the region. To help protect young children who aren’t fully vaccinated, measles immunity is now required for migrant domestic workers (MDWs).
The measles vaccine is given as part of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. Two doses, spaced at least 28 days apart, are needed for full protection. MMR vaccination is available for MDWs at our clinics islandwide. Feel free to contact us to learn more. Make your appointment here.
