Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)

CHAS is a government funded scheme to enable Singapore Citizens to receive subsidies for medical care under CHAS General Practitioner (GP) clinics. The Pioneer Generation package (PGP) also allows Pioneers to receive special subsidies under CHAS.

Eligible patients with selected chronic conditions are able to enjoy CHAS subsidies as well as tap on their Medisave for outpatient treatment of their chronic conditions.

Eligible patients can use their personal Medisave account and immediate family members’ Medisave accounts for payment of their chronic disease treatment.

To reduce the out-of-pocket cash payments for outpatient bills, patients can use their family member’s Medisave or theirs (up to 10 accounts) of up to $540 per year for Pioneer Generation cardholders and $480 per year for CHAS cardholders.

Each claim is subject to a 15% co-payment in cash. This is regardless of whether the bill is for a one-off visit or a package.
