What are minor procedures & surgery?

Minor procedures & surgery are small surgical treatments that can be safely done in a clinic rather than a hospital operating theatre. They're carried out under local anaesthetic, so only the area being treated is numbed and you stay awake and comfortable throughout.

It's a convenient, affordable way to deal with common problems in a single visit — with our doctors guiding you through aftercare afterwards.

Why have it done in clinic

  • No hospital admission or general anaesthetic
  • Done under local anaesthetic — awake and comfortable
  • Often completed the same day, with quick recovery
  • More affordable, with CHAS/MediSave where applicable
  • Aftercare and follow-up from a doctor who knows you

Minor procedures & surgery FAQs

Will a minor procedure hurt?
Minor procedures are done under local anaesthetic, so the area is numbed first. You may feel some pressure or tugging, but not sharp pain. The numbing injection itself stings only briefly.
How long does a minor procedure take?
Most minor procedures take about 15 to 45 minutes, and you can usually go home the same day and resume normal activities soon after.
Will I need my stitches removed?
Some procedures involve stitches. We'll let you know if so, and arrange removal — usually 7 to 14 days later, depending on the site — while checking that the wound is healing well.
Will it leave a scar?
Any procedure that cuts the skin can leave a small scar. Our doctors take care to keep it minimal and will advise you on aftercare to help it heal neatly.
Do I need a referral to have a minor procedure?
No referral is needed to see our doctors. If a lump or condition turns out to need specialist or hospital care, we'll arrange a referral for you.
Is minor surgery subsidised or claimable?
CHAS subsidies and MediSave may apply to certain procedures for eligible patients. Our team will let you know what applies before you proceed.
