What is a wellness check?

A wellness check is a friendly, all-round review of how you're really doing. Beyond measuring the numbers, your doctor looks at your lifestyle, mental wellbeing and personal risks — then gives practical, personalised advice to help you stay well.

It's ideal as a yearly check-in, and pairs perfectly with any specific health screening tests you may need.

What a wellness check looks at

  • A doctor's consultation and physical examination
  • Everyday health markers — blood pressure, weight, BMI
  • Lifestyle: diet, activity, sleep, alcohol and smoking
  • Mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Age- and gender-specific checks, with a personalised plan

Wellness check FAQs

What's the difference between a wellness check and a health screening?
A wellness check is a broader, holistic review of your overall health and wellbeing — a doctor's consultation, physical examination and tailored advice. A health screening is a set of tests and scans to detect specific diseases early. They work well together: the wellness check looks at the whole person, while screening tests for particular conditions.
How is a wellness check different from Healthier SG?
Healthier SG is a national programme where you enrol with one family doctor for ongoing preventive care and a personalised Health Plan you follow over time. A wellness check is a single, focused visit that reviews your current health — and it fits naturally within your Healthier SG journey.
How often should I go for a wellness check?
For most healthy adults, once a year is a good rhythm. Your doctor may suggest more frequent checks depending on your age, lifestyle and family history. Children follow their own developmental and immunisation schedule.
Do you offer wellness checks for the whole family?
Yes. We provide dedicated wellness checks for men, women and children, so the whole family can be cared for in one trusted place.
Are wellness checks subsidised?
Certain components — such as nationally recommended screenings and vaccinations — may be subsidised under Healthier SG, CHAS or Screen for Life. Our team will let you know what applies to you.
What happens during a wellness check?
A consultation to understand your history and lifestyle, a physical examination, age- and gender-appropriate checks, and personalised advice — with any follow-up tests or referrals arranged if needed.
